About

The Owner

My name is Becca and I’m in my mid-twenties.  I was a major Hanson fan from 1997 until 2007, but my love for the band declined for a couple years. After watching the 5 for 5 in April 2010, I found my love for the band renewed.  In my teens I was a Zac girl for sure. I still have respect for the band and some of their works prior to The Walk are still some of my absolute favorite songs.

I must give the Hanson fandom a lot of credit, though, because without it I don’t know how long it would have taken me to discover my love for writing and my passion for Web design.  For me the two hobbies go hand in hand and always will.  I currently have a Bachelors degree in English/Writing and I’m in the process of earning another degree in Computer Science/Web Design.

The Name

The name "A Million Contradictions" comes from a line in Hilary Duff's song "I Am."

I'm a million contradictions
Sometimes I make no sense
Sometimes I'm perfect
Sometimes I'm a mess
Sometimes I'm not sure who I am
But, I am special
I am beautiful
I am wonderful
And powerful
Unstoppable
Sometimes I'm miserable
Sometimes I'm pitiful
But that's so typical of all the things I am

I felt that line explained who am I and since my writing is a big part of me, I wanted to show that with the title of the website.

The History

A Million Contracitions has been around since 2001, though not by that name. The roots of this site started as a subsite of the Zac Hanson website Pretty Fly For A White Guy that I ran for several years. It started on Angelfire.com as part of that site, but when I got posted by HansonFanHigh.com, I renamed the fiction site Second Hand Shoes.

On March 14, 2002, I bought my first domain, Lonely-Eyes.net, with the goal of using it for a Hanson group website; those plans fell through, but my fiction site continued until the name Skies A Blur.

In the Spring of 2005, I attempted to transfer Lonely-Eyes.net to a new hosting company, but after complications I decided to just scrap the domain. At that time Brittney offered to host my website on her domain Failed-To-Say.net, so I moved everything over and on March 16, I relaunched the site under it's current name, A Million Contradictions. Then in July 2005, Brittney moved my site to AloneInThePretense.org.

In September 2006, I decided to purchase another domain, Break-My-Fall.org, and moved AMC on to it.
In early 2008, my attention shifted from Hanfic and has remained very low since then. It is because of that shift that I've simplied AMC in the last year or so, merging it with the AMC: Archives website I had created a few years ago.

In April 2010, my love for Hanson was renewed while watching the 5 for 5 series and I got inspired to write another story.

In June and July 2011, I made decisions concerning my website that I had been putting off for months. Faced with people being unable to view my website I opened AMC on LJ, which I'm using to post my chapter stories. I also started working on moving AMC and all of its subsites to places that host free websites, whether they will remain until I can afford a new domain.
